VTuber Interactive Event

Vack-ON!!

VTuber Interactive Event

We projected VTuber Akatsuki Luci as a hologram onto Fandom Namba's LED display and hosted a fan interaction event.

Challenges

Famdom Namba, a specialty VTuber shop, has one of Japan’s highest-resolution 0.7 mm-pitch LED displays installed in its top-floor event space. However, they faced the challenge of making even better use of that display. They also found it difficult to create a convincing sense that the VTuber is “right there” when shown on a flat screen.

Solution

We projected VTuber Akatsuki Luci as a hologram on the LED display and opened Fandom Namba's event space. By combining Portalgraph's innovative holographic projection technology with Fandom Namba's ultra-high-definition LED display, we projected Akatsuki Luci at life-size and provided an experience as if she were right in front of the audience.

Results

We received very positive feedback from participants, with satisfaction from Vack-ON!!, Fandom Namba, and Akatsuki Luci herself. In the survey conducted on the day, we received responses from 37 people, achieving an average satisfaction score of 4.89 on a 5-point scale (1: boring, 5: interesting).

We also received the following impressions:

  • "It was amazing to see it in 3D! I was shocked that we could get close enough to high-five."
  • "It felt incredible to have my oshi right in front of me."
  • "The high-five was the best!"
  • "Wow! She came right up to me!! I was so moved—thank you so much!!"
  • "She was so real that I instinctively waved at her..."
  • "It felt like she was really there—I was thrilled! The live performance was awesome too!"
  • "Having the MV as the background made it easy to get into the song's emotion! I could clearly see parts of the outfit that I missed at the 3D debut—fantastic!"
  • "She was so close—amazing! I'm glad I experienced it."
  • "It really felt like she was right next to me! Truly moving!"
  • "I felt so close to her—it was a special experience. Thank you."
  • "Of all the displays I've seen, this gave the strongest 'she's right there' feeling! The distance and realism during the high-five were striking. I could see the facial expressions and costume details up close—very satisfying."
  • "Honestly, you won't grasp how amazing this is until you try it!! When you do, you'll see—Luki-chan was right there!!"
  • "I had fun! The forward-and-back motion, like reaching out a hand, felt especially three-dimensional."
  • "It popped out way more than I imagined—so much fun."
