VTuber Real-time 1on1 Event: Portal Meet

Following the successful first event, we held a second Portal Meet event at Fandom Namba on November 30, 2025. VTubers NEPHLA and Umitsuki Shell were projected in real-time 3D using Portalgraph.

For Portal Meet Vol.3, we welcomed Ayaginu Temari and Hiiragi Santa as featured guests. This time, we offered a 3-shot cheki with both VTubers as a set with the 1on1 ticket. Their casual conversation during the 3-shot cheki session created a heartwarming and precious atmosphere, and on top of the existing Portal Meet experience, we were able to deliver an additional new kind of fan experience.

At the Tokyo venue (Shinjuku Marui 8F) of the 2nd Virtual Girls Fashion Festa, we held Portal Meet with ChumuNote, Hinomoto Mai, LiLY, Datenshi Botan, Tsubaki Yamakawa, Minon, and Yuzuka.

For this event, we brought our own ultra short-throw projector and projected Portal Meet onto the venue wall. Portal Meet can be held in a wide variety of locations without permanent installation.

From May 2 (Sat) to May 6 (Wed), 2026, we held Super Oshi-Katsu Fest over five days at The Lab. ACTIVE Studio, 2F North Building, Grand Front Osaka. Seven VTubers — Amaeru, Mamitasu, Haruka Mikoto, Reira Honjo, Sakurazuki Kanon, HATSUME, and Ruan Rock Demon — appeared on stage.

In addition to the regular Portal Meet 1on1, we also held a brand-new offline meetup format: a 45-minute group session where multiple fans sat in chairs, wore 3D glasses, and interacted with their VTuber in stereoscopic 3D together. By combining venue-wide group communication with intimate 1on1 time, we delivered a richer fan experience than ever before.

Each VTuber brought their own unique program to the meetup — quizzes, talk segments, and even live song performances — proving that this format can also be applied to music live events. (See our VTuber AR Concert case study for a related example.)

Survey Results

We received 49 responses, with an average satisfaction score of 4.96 / 5.00 — 48 of 49 attendees gave the highest score of 5. Representative comments include:

• "Far more amazing than any VR I've experienced before — she truly seemed to leap out and be right there in front of me!"
• "Similar past events usually required VR headsets, which felt like a hurdle in terms of cost and setup. With a system like this, real-time interaction with many more people feels possible — I can sense the expanding possibilities."
• "I'd done 1on1s in VR space wearing goggles before, but the fact that multiple fans can experience this at the same time is amazing. Doing quizzes together, having a requested song performed, taking photos together — it was such a fun time."
• "It was so much more three-dimensional than I imagined — she was really there in front of me!"
• "Through the 3D glasses, my oshi looked like she was popping out of the screen — incredibly fun!"
• "The distance was so close it shocked me. I felt the technical leap forward, and her cuteness was multiplied a hundredfold."

• "Compared to past VR events I've been to, the simplicity is on a whole different level. Easy access to a real-feeling oshi is a precious opportunity."
• "Just a pair of glasses, and yet the immersion was astonishing. Even a multi-venue simultaneous stereoscopic live show feels within reach in the near future."
• "It was my first 3D event — overwhelming impact and excitement. I'm completely satisfied. I'll definitely come again next time."

At Virtual Girls Fashion Festa -Wedding- (VGFF), we held Portal Meet at Shibuya MODI in Tokyo (June 10–14, 2026) and Fandom Namba in Osaka (June 20–21, 2026). Six VTubers appeared: Konome Monta, Sakayori Pepa, Itsuki Tsukasa, Shikibu Meguri, Shimanaga Ena, and Flare Rune.

Fans who experienced Portal Meet shared overwhelmingly positive reactions — many describing the VTubers as appearing right in front of them at "gachikoi distance," with head pats, close-up conversations, and freely moving avatars creating a sense of presence far beyond a flat screen. Attendees in Osaka especially noted the spacious venue, where VTubers could move around freely and interact from multiple angles.

On July 4, 2026, we held a special Portal Meet at Fandom Akiba to celebrate the birthday of VTuber Mochi Hiyoko. (See the event announcement for details.)

A highlight of this event was that Mochi Hiyoko's outfit changed with every time slot. Fans could meet her across a wide range of models — her standard outfit, "jirai-kei" outfit, the 11-year-old Hiyoko, a dress outfit, and even "Hiyori-kun" — each appearing right in front of them in stereoscopic 3D. Every participant also received a cheki (instant photo) sleeve hand-signed by Mochi Hiyoko as a special keepsake.

Reactions were overwhelmingly enthusiastic. Many fans described the experience as an unbelievably close "gachikoi distance," with comments like "she's really right there in front of me," "I could see the fluffy dress and even the semi-transparent frills up close," and "the moment she reached out felt truly three-dimensional." Head pats, hugs, and close-up conversations delivered a sense of presence far beyond a flat screen — with more than a few guests admitting their minds "went completely blank" the instant they came face to face with their oshi.

On August 8–9, 2026, we held hyper-stereoscopic 1on1 Portal Meet at Portal ∞ Cafe Vol.0 in Osaka. Three VTubers appeared: Takeshizuku Mai, Tsukumo Mina, and Komainu. (For the full café — meetup, menus, and merch — see the VTuber collab café case study.)

Portal Meet ran right after each performer’s stereoscopic meetup, with one minute of one-on-one time per ticket. We brought a projector and screen into a café-scale venue — no permanent LED wall required — and still delivered high-fives, hugs, and “gachikoi distance” conversations that photos alone cannot convey.

Fans described a sense of presence far beyond a flat screen: the VTuber felt truly right in front of them.

On August 11, 2026 (national holiday), we held Portal Meet at Virtual Girls Fashion Festa -Beach- (VGFF) in Osaka (Namba). Six VTubers appeared: Ridel., Hiiragi Eru, Yuudutsu Tear, Datenshi Botan, Sakayori Pepa, and Flare Rune. (See the event announcement for details.)

Fans described the stereoscopic 1on1 as an experience that "she was really right there" — getting "hit" by twin tails, and gachikoi distance that felt far beyond a flat screen. Many said the minutes flew by. Performers themselves also shared comments such as fans going "full limit-break" and how fun it was to see everyone's reactions.

On SNS, we also received reactions such as "something everyone should try once," "the most powerful 3D impact yet," and "Portal Meet deserves to spread further."
